About Our School
Martinez Institute of English (MIE), located at
Martinez Adult Education (MAE), has been in existence for over 35 years. Our purpose is to provide literacy education and citizenship preparation in a safe, supportive environment. Our instructors have a combined total of over 115 years of experience in teaching ESL classes.  We strive to provide an opportunity for students to learn English in a warm, supportive atmosphere.  

About Our Classes
Our ESL program offers both day and evening English as a Second Language (ESL) classes in multiple levels (from Literacy to Advanced). In addition, we offer ESL Communication Skills, ESL Writing, ESL Computer Applications and U.S. Citizenship Preparation classes.  All ESL classes are free of charge!  There is no cost! For a complete list of all MAE classes, times and fees, click the button below.

About
​Our Students
ESL students have diverse ages, finances, and educational backgrounds.  They also come from many different nations and speak varied languages. Our students are parents, workers, caregivers, and newcomers dealing with many barriers to their educational, family, and work related goals.
